2021 MCG Discount Program FAQ’s

Q: Why did MCG change the programs?

A: MCG reviews all programs annually and periodically makes adjustments.  We have updated our programs for 2021 to simplify the programs offered, work with our technology, and provide good value to our loyal customers. 

Q: What program is right for me?

A: The programs are designed to be discount programs.  You should review them based on how often you play during the year.  Examples with breakeven numbers are provided based on an average green and cart fee rate of $45.   

Q: The average rate is higher or lower than I usually pay?

A: We understand that the average rate may be different than what you normally pay.  If your rate is lower it will increase the number of rounds before you breakeven and if your rate is higher than the breakeven number of rounds will be lower. 

Q: What do you mean by breakeven?

A: Breakeven is the number of rounds it will take for your discounts to equal the amount you paid for the package.  After the breakeven number your savings will be greater than what you paid. 

Q:  What happened to the Weekday/Unlimited Memberships?

A:  MCG will no-longer offer unlimited play memberships but will continue to offer a variety of discount memberships.

Q:  What happened to loyalty points?

A:  In order to simplify the programs, we have added an additional 5% discount to the program to help offset loyalty points.

Q:  Why aren’t my Free Senior benefits combined with my purchased discount package like before?

A:  In an effort to simplify our discount programs, we will no-longer be combining discounts.  The new senior programs provide discounts 7 days a week, offer a higher discount during the week than the FREE senior program, and offer a higher discount on cart fees than other programs.  

Q:  I’m a Senior, how come I must pay for a cart when I didn’t used to?

A:  In the past, MCG included a complimentary cart for seniors in the price of the green fee. However, due to the costs of extra cleaning requirements and the increased demand for single cart use we are no longer able to offer a complimentary cart.  We are happy to offer a 50% discount on carts for seniors.
